- To start a new location search, navigate to the corresponding Dashboard and locate the Search bar at the top of the page
- Enter any applicable keywords, if necessary
- Enter a location into the corresponding field. By default, this will always search on the home address.
- Entering a City+State or Zip into the Location field will default to perform a 25 mile radius search
- Entering full State(s) or State abbreviation(s) will search just that state specifically
- Click the Search button when complete
- Once the search is run, you can always tweak the location and/or radius by utilizing the filters on the left side of results
Running a Search
Searching for Records by User (Record Owner)
- Navigate to the corresponding Dashboard (People, Companies, or Jobs)
- Click on the Advanced link to the right of the search bar
- Locate the Miscellaneous section and select the appropriate person’s name from the Owner drop-down
- Apply any additional criteria as necessary and click the Run Search button when complete
Viewing All Companies in Your Database
- Navigate to the Companies Dashboard
- Locate the All Companies card on the left side of the page
- Click the number above total
Viewing All People in Your Database
- Navigate to the People Dashboard
- Locate the All People card on the left side of the page
- Click the number above total
Boolean Searching
- Boolean searching gives you the ability to combine a variety of ‘operators’ with specific keywords or terms to produce more specific and more relevant search results
- AND = requires all words connected by AND be present in each result
- OR = requires at least one of the terms connected by OR be present in each result
- Parentheses ( ) = requires terms and operators that occur inside them be searched first
- Quotation Marks ” ” = requires words be searched as an exact phrase
- Asterisk * = expands a search term to include all forms of that root word
- AND NOT = retrieves records that do not contain the term following it
Running a Search
- To start a new keyword search, navigate to the corresponding Dashboard and locate the Search bar at the top of the page
- Create a Boolean string within the Keywords box OR click the link to open the Boolean Builder
- The Boolean Builder will allow you to fill in the various keywords that you’re looking for (separated by commas), while building the string for you
- If applicable, you can also apply a Present Position Title and/or Location before running your search
- To apply additional criteria to your search, click the Advanced link to view the Advanced Search page
- When you’re ready to run your search and view results, click the Search button
