There is something very empowering about the recruiting profession! You can “give yourself a raise” as often as you please, increasing your recruiting income on a regular basis! Income in our profession is impacted by your personal performance. Your owner or manager doesn’t write your paycheck . . . you do!
Once you have determined your personal ratios, you know exactly what activity level you need to attain in order to enjoy a higher level of success.
The great news is . . .
You don’t have to double your effort to double your recruiting income! Once you have experience in our profession, you know who to call and how to call. All you have to do is consistently increase your activity level by 20% to earn dramatically more money.
Let me be more specific. If your send-out-to-placement ratio is four-to-one, that means you average four send-outs before you make one placement. If you want to increase your production by one placement each month, you need to book a minimum of four additional send-outs!
Two important numbers for recruiters
It’s also very important to focus on two numbers. First, you should focus on your send-out numbers. If you don’t date, you don’t get married, and if you don’t book send-outs, you don’t make placements.
You also need to focus on the number of sales vs. the production amount. Fees have been increasing over the years due to increased salaries, yet often a recruiter is considered a hero if they make one $25,000 placement per month.
Can you imagine the impact on your life if you averaged two placements per month vs. one? You would double your production and income! Now that’s a great raise! How many other professions would reward you for making only one sale per month?
It’s important to tie your increased income to something that is extremely important to you. If you dramatically increased your production, how would that impact the following?
- Your income
- Your family
- Your future
- Your philanthropic endeavors
Money is not everything, but it does give you the ability to make more choices in your life. For many years, my goal was to make a difference in the lives of the people I cared about.
My financial goals dramatically increased when I realized that if I was more successful, I could make a bigger difference in the lives of many more people! We all have the same 168 hours each week. How will you make the best use of your time?
7 steps for increasing your recruiting income:
- Track your statistics.
- Determine your personal ratios.
- Figure out your “why?”
- Consistently increase your activity level.
- Focus on send-outs.
- Be very selfish with “prime time.”
- Focus on the number of sales vs. production totals.
Congratulations . . . you now have proven steps to give yourself a raise starting immediately!
Here’s to a record-breaking year in 2016!
