Recruitment and Selection Training Courses for Headhunting

by | Mar 3, 2022 | Recruiter Training

In a previous blog post, we discussed the value and education associated with recruitment agency training courses. The value, and the education associated with that value, is quite significant for those who want to pursue a career as a search consultant.

There are many different types of training courses for recruiters. That’s because there are many different aspects to the recruiting profession. It is a unique, often complicated, and rewarding profession. Perhaps the most important aspect of the profession is a search consultant’s ability to recruit talent. More specifically, it’s a search consultant’s ability to recruiting top talent.

Because let’s face it. Employers don’t secure the services of a search consultant to recruit just any talent. They want the best of the best. That’s what they’re paying for, anyway.

This, in part, is what executive search consultants and agency recruiters, are also referred to as headhunters. Decades ago, the term headhunter was more widely used, both by recruiters themselves and by those who worked with recruiters. Times have changed. Nearly swept away by a tidal wave of politically correctness, the term is almost extinct . . . but not quite.

No, some recruiters still refer to themselves as headhunters. And some candidates still call them headhunters. Remarkably, nobody is offended and nobody is outraged. Even those who actually hunt heads. Wherever they may be in the world.

Anyway, back to our story, which revolves around recruitment and selection courses for headhunting. Or in other words, training courses that help search consultants successfully recruit top candidates to fill their clients’ job orders. Because when search consultants are able to do that, they receive placement checks. Then they cash those placements checks and live happily ever after. Or at the very least, until the money from said placement check lasts.

Recruitment and selection courses for headhunters

The good news is that Top Echelon offers recruitment and selection training courses as part of its Recruiter Coaching Series of free webinars. After the webinars are over, we post the recorded version of the webinars in our Recruiter Training Library. Many of these training courses (and subsequent videos) deal with topics that could be associated with old-school headhunting.

Three of these recruitment and selection courses are listed below. We’ve included the title of the course or video, the name of the trainer, a description, and a link.

Headhunting training courses online

As you might have already gathered, Top Echelon’s headhunting training courses are located online. In other words, you just need an Internet connection to view them. (Oh, and you also have to submit your email address. I apologize if I didn’t disclose that earlier. I certainly didn’t mean to misrepresent.)

Top Echelon offers a TON of recruitment and selection training courses. These webinars touch upon a variety of recruiter-related topics, including headhunting topics. These topics deal with both candidates and clients. As always, our goal with these webinars (and corresponding videos) is to help recruiters make more placements.

These recruitment and selection courses are conducted by some of the most popular trainers and speakers in the recruiting and staffing profession. In addition to the three trainers listed above, hey include:

  • Greg Doersching
  • Barb Bruno
  • Jon Bartos
  • Shally Steckerl
  • Doug Beabout
  • Gary Stauble
  • Scott Wintrip

These are just a handful of the many trainers who have contributed to our library of recruitment and selection training courses. There are others, as well.

Recruitment and selection training slides

When you watch the recorded versions of Top Echelon’s training courses, you will, of course, see the video of the life webinar. (That’s because, as mentioned above, we recorded it.) You will also see, as part of the recording the recruitment and selection training slides that accompanied the live version of the webinar. Will you be able to download the training slides? Sometimes you will, and sometimes you will not. Ultimately, it is up to each individual trainer, who makes that decision prior to conducting the live webinar session.

Recruitment and selection training material

In addition to the slides, you might also have access to recruitment and selection training material while watching the recorded versions of these headhunting courses. This is because the trainer may have prepared special material for attendees of the live webinar. If they did, we also provide that training material to recruiters who watch the video version.

This training material might include the slides from the live webinar, it might include some other training material, or it could be both. Once again, it’s up to the discretion of the trainer charged with conducting the session. Please note, though, at the training material is typically located below the video for easy identification and download.

Recruitment and selection training activities

As far as recruitment and selection training activities are concerned, that is once again up to the trainer conducting each session. They might conduct a poll during the webinar. They might ask questions during the session to gauge attendees’ level of knowledge. Heck, they may even assign “homework” to recruiters to help them become more proficient in a certain area.

This is especially the case for those courses that deal with owner issues. Agency owners can take what they learned during these training courses and implement them in their office almost immediately. Then they can track the results and see if the new strategies were effective, and if they were, to what degree.

Recruitment and selection training courses at your fingertips

Here’s the even better news: these recruitment and selection training courses are literally at your fingertips. That’s because with just a few keystrokes (and, ahem, your email address), you could start watching them right now!

And not only that, but you can also sign up to receive emails for our Recruiter Coaching Series of live webinars. As mentioned above, after the webinars are over, we post the recorded version of the webinars on our website. So you can visit our online library and:
