Attention to detail is always important in the recruiting profession, and that’s especially the case in this kind of economic environment (i.e., slow and stingy clients and scarce job orders). Maria Hemminger of MJ Recruiters, LLC, one of the top-producing recruiters in TE Network™, started in the recruiting industry in 1997. According to Hemminger, 2010 has been one of the best years that the firm has ever enjoyed.
One of the keys to Hemminger’s success this year has been sales, which she discusses in this blog post. However, paying close attention to the details of the job placement process has also been a factor for Hemminger and MJ Recruiters.
According to Hemminger, she and her business partner, Joanna Spaun, have created a highly effective placement process and they follow it closely. Not only that, but everybody in the firm has a role in the process, and they know their role inside and out. The result has been a profitable one.
“In our office, we have the process down,” said Hemminger. “We know how to make a placement and have a detailed outlined process in order to do so. Everyone has a role in the process. My role is the order and client communication, we have researchers that manage the search process, and Joanna manages the interview and presentation process.”
Hemminger indicated that there’s also a process checklist which serves to hold everybody in the office accountable for their responsibilities.
“As contingent recruiters, this process has led us to fill 69% of the orders that we have taken this year,” she said.
