Websites Account for Twice as Many Network Placements

One of the major category of statistics that we track at TE NetworkTM is the one related to “Actions Causing Placements,” which indicate how placements are being made within the Network.

Ever since the Network was founded in 1988, the number-one action causing placements has been “Regular Communication with Trading Partner.”  That was the case again in 2013 (see chart below), which is really not a surprise.  After all, Communication is one of the Four Pillars of TE NetworkTM.

However, there was an interesting aspect to the “Actions Causing Placements” category, and that aspect pertains to our Top Echelon recruiting websites.

In 2012, Hiring Hook websites (including the Job Board component and the TEN Feed) accounted for 12.6% of all placements in the Network.  However, in 2013, that percentage more than doubled to 25.5%.

This is a continuation of a trend that we’ve witnessed during the past few years.  In fact, Hiring Hook websites only accounted for 3.4% of Network placements as recently as 2010.  That percentage has grown rapidly since then.

What’s driving this trend?  Two things, primarily.  First, more Network recruiters have Hiring Hook websites.  Second, more job seekers and candidates are searching for jobs online and applying for them, especially with their smartphones and/or tablet devices.

There is absolutely no reason to believe that Hiring Hook websites won’t become even more popular and effective in the future in helping Network recruiters make placements.

However, there ultimately might be nothing more effective than “Regular Communication.”
