How Many Perm Placements Recruiters Made in 2015

by | Jan 30, 2016 | Top Echelon Blog

We officially closed the books on 2015 earlier this month, so this is a good time to “settle up” and analyze your recruiting production for the year. One of the ways to do that is calculating how many perm placements you made.

At Top Echelon, we recently asked our Network recruiters to calculate their perm placements for the past year. (Keep in mind that we asked them to calculate the overall perm placements on their recruiting desks, both inside and outside of Top Echelon Network.)

How did we ask them? With a strategically placed but not overtly obvious poll question . . . of course:

How many perm placements did you make in 2015?

Results:

The choice of answers that we provided is listed below, along with the percentage of recruiters who selected each one:

  • 0-4 — 13.2%
  • 5-8 — 19.8%
  • 9-12 — 24.5%
  • 13-16 — 13.2%
  • 17-20 — 6.6%
  • More than 20 — 22.6%

Summary

Nearly a quarter of recruiters who participated in the poll (24.5%) made between nine and 12 perm placements last year. That was the most popular answer.

However, 22.6% of respondents chose “more than 20” as their answer. That begs another question: how many more than 20 did they make? That answer, sadly, was not available via this particular poll.

In addition, almost one-fifth of participants (19.8%) made between five and eight perm placements in 2015. The same percentage of recruiters (13.2%) made between zero and four placements and between 13 and 16 placements.

Those recruiters who made between 17 and 20 placements were dead-last at 6.6%. Although if you made that many placements, you still have to feel pretty good about yourself.

Analysis and Conclusion

There’s a lot of good news baked into the results of this poll, sort of like how chocolate chips and walnuts are baked into delicious, gooey chocolate chip walnut cookies. I’m sorry . . . where was I?

Yes, the good news:

  • Nearly 30% of Top Echelon Network recruiters polled made 17 or more perm placements in 2015.
  • Over 42% of Network recruiters polled made 13 or more perm placements.
  • Almost 67% of Network recruiters polled made nine or more such placements.

The conclusion is irrefutable. Last year was a good year for both recruiters and the recruiting industry. Companies were in the mood to hire, and they were also in the mood to pay executive recruiters for the opportunity to hire the very best candidates available in the marketplace.

So—who’s up for some chocolate chip walnut cookies?!
